The Czech Republic, Czech: ceska republika (pronunciation?), Was established 1 January 1993 and includes the historic Austrian landscapes of Bohemia and Moravia, as well as a small part of Silesia known as Austrian Silesia.
The country accounted for with the current Slovakia until the fall of the dictatorship of the Communist state Czechoslovakia. It is surrounded by land on all sides and border countries are Germany to the west, Austria to the south, Slovakia and Poland in the east to the north. Some major Czech cities include Prague (PRG), Brno (Brno), Plzen (Pilsen) and Olomouc (Olmütz). |
