Kingdom of the Netherlands is a country in Northern Europe. The country is also known as the Netherlands, but strictly speaking, consists of only the northern part of the historical Low Countries, where the southern portion was excreted as Belgium in 1830.
The country, together with Aruba and the Netherlands Antilles Kingdom of the Netherlands (Koninkrijk der Nederlanden). The Netherlands is one of the most densely populated and geographically low-lying land in the world and is famous for its dikes, windmills, tulips, wooden shoes, and social tolerance. The country is also home to the International Court in the Hague. Amsterdam is the official capital, while The Hague ('s-Gravenhage is the official name) houses the government and parliament (De Tweede Kamer). |
