San Diego is the eighth largest city in the United States and the second largest in the state of California. The city is located on the Pacific coast in the southwest corner of the U.S., right up to the Mexican border. San Diego is known for its mild climate and its long relationship with the U.S. Navy. The city is home port to many of the Navy's ships, including a number of carriers. The aircraft carrier USS "Midway" is now in port in San Diego as a museum.
